Francois Byrne

FOUNDER & PROJECT DIRECTOR

While designing and racing hybrid race cars during university, Francois quickly realized the potential of the battery outside of its mainstream markets. After completing his engineering degree, gaining some real-world experience then completing an MBA, he put it all on the line to pursue entrepreneurship. He founded Hybrid Power Solutions with the goal of revolutionizing work sites with fuel free solutions and integrating battery systems in high potential, untapped markets. Francois pride’s himself on growing a sustainable business with an ethical business practice. Innovation is at the forefront of his team’s values and has helped them develop products and solutions for top tier customers. HPS’ line of fuel free power packs intended to replace gas and diesel generators allow for a plug and play solution to providing power in everything from mining to weddings. As the solar market grew, Francois shifted HPS’ technology to serve the stationary residential market with a simple to install and use solar system that is highly expandable. His mission is to build a company that inspires innovation, creativity and delivers no compromise energy storage solutions.

Bruno Antidormi, P.Eng, G.S.C.

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Mr. Antidormi , recently retired from EllisDon Corporation, was promoted to Toronto Area Manager in 2002 and in 2004 was appointed Senior Vice President, responsible for overseeing all Projects in the Greater Toronto Area.

During his 35 year career, Bruno Antidormi has been involved in all types of major construction and is experienced in Design Build, Construction Management and Lump Sum projects. Since joining EllisDon in 1980, he has been responsible for a variety of large, complex projects with special skills and knowledge relating to the health care sector. His leadership and organizational skills have proven invaluable in providing technical, budgeting, scheduling, and general resource expertise to deliver a successful project.  Mr. Antidormi has been instrumental in leading a team of results-oriented construction professionals who has earned the respect of clients for delivering projects on time, within budget, and in a collaborative environment.

Bruno is one of Toronto’s most senior and knowledgeable construction professionals with many years of experience in the management and delivery of multi-million dollar projects.

Bruno is a graduate of the University of Toronto (1979) and was also Chairman of the Toronto Construction Association in 2005.

Rafael Oliveira, PHD

HEAD OF ENGINEERING

Dr. Rafael Oliveira brings over 25 years of experience in diverse engineering projects and 13 years as an academic professor in Brazil and Canada.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Automation and Control Engineering (Mechatronics) in 2003 and his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics in 2005, both from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

During this period, Dr. Oliveira worked as a full-time research assistant in the university’s Power Electronics Laboratory for five years.

After completing his studies, he held various roles, including serving as a field engineer in the oil and gas industry and as a professor at Senai College, where he taught courses such as Digital Control, Electric Circuits, Power Electronics, Photometry, and Automation.

In 2013, Dr. Oliveira immigrated to Toronto, Canada, to pursue a Ph.D. at Toronto Metropolitan University, focusing on modular multilevel converters for HVDC systems.

He completed his Ph.D. in July 2016, receiving the early graduation award and having his thesis indicated to the Governor General Gold Medal Award. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto. During his postdoctoral tenure, he developed a mathematical model for automotive wireless charging coil behavior and explored innovative coil topologies to enhance magnetic coupling in off-center scenarios.

From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Oliveira taught modelling and control of power converters, electromagnetic field theory, instrumentation, and electric machines in the undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering programs at Toronto Metropolitan University.

In 2017, Dr. Oliveira transitioned to the Canadian industry through a provincial grant and has since worked in research and development within the private sector.

His primary research interests include power electronic converter topologies and control, particularly switched capacitor converters. He is also actively involved in renewable energy systems.

Dr. Oliveira has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers on power electronics and wireless charging, including a book on modular multilevel converters.

Shannon Hammer

VP GLOBAL SALES

Shannon joined HPS in 2023 bringing extensive experience commercializing innovative products in senior roles for some world class organizations with a combined 25 years experience between Milwaukee Tools, Lowe’s and Dewalt.  Shannon is focused on transforming our distribution model and building a service model that will support long-term scalable growth creating a global presence for HPS.

Muneer Yoosuf

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

With over 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management, Muneer Yoosuf is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in managing complex organizations and driving strategic initiatives. Having worked across diverse industries—including manufacturing, construction, defense & aerospace, and trading—Muneer Yoosuf brings a wealth of expertise in both large-scale corporate environments and entrepreneurial settings.

Throughout his career, Muneer Yoosuf has successfully led teams of more than a dozen professionals, navigating high-pressure situations and delivering results in challenging environments. With over 8 years of leadership experience, he has built and scaled startup companies, implemented robust ERP and costing systems, and consolidated the accounts of over 25 companies worth over USD 7 billion of assets. Muneer Yoosuf has also played a pivotal role in mergers & acquisitions (M&A), business appraisals, and commercial proposals, adding value to both large corporations and smaller, agile businesses.

An international professional, Muneer Yoosuf has extensive cross-border experience, managing financial operations and negotiations with technology partners to secure optimal outcomes for the business. His deep expertise in financial strategy, combined with a practical understanding of operations and technology, has consistently provided organizations with a clear strategic direction, driving both growth and efficiency.

Mr. Gorman brings over 25 years of experience in finance, public listings, viability assessment, and the operational rationalization of several emerging-growth public companies. For 18 years, he served as President and Managing Partner of Riverbank Capital working with small-cap companies to assist in financing, property, and profile development. He was instrumental in raising capital in excess of $85 million, and in developing plans for ongoing sustainable business growth.

Angelo Catenaro

DIRECTOR

After a 15-year pro hockey career in Europe, Mr. Catenaro founded and built up Vecture Inc. into one of Canada’s leading exporters of mission critical Lithium-Ion battery management systems with over 100 employees and all manufacturing and engineering services provided from Concord, Ontario. In 2016, Vecture was acquired by German conglomerate Eberspaecher, a company that generates $6 billion in annual revenue. Angelo continues to run the new entity known as Eberspaecher-Vecture in the role as president.

Stephen Davidson

DIRECTOR

For over 10 years, Mr. Davidson has been assisting public companies communicate with current shareholders and attracting new investors in Canada, the United States, and the UK. Mr. Davidson worked as Vice President of Sales at Cambridge House International for seven years, Mr. Davidson worked closely with public companies, investors, and industry experts. In 2021, Mr. Davidson joined International Data Group as Vice President of Sales & Partnerships, and is working closely with public and private companies to help them reach a new investor audience through an established family office network. Mr. Davidson has not entered into a non-competition agreement with the Company, and he is subject to confidentiality obligations under his director’s agreement.
